Visiting a village in Malawi that now has electricity because of Gridless and #Bitcoin mining was such an incredible experience.
In Malawi, the median salary is $2.00 per day and in the village we visited, it’s closer to $1.00. Worse, Malawi just had a currency debasement of 44% 3 weeks ago.
It touched my soul to meet and spend time with these amazing people, to see the laughter of the children, and to hear how #Bitcoin is changing their lives.
I would say good luck to anyone who thinks that #Bitcoin can be stopped. Because they are fighting a redistribution of power away from manipulation and exploitation of people back to them and to the free market. https://image.nostr.build/1c21ed5aaf1b8154240b8a71a2637f25581bdc2cd7c5b47c1de3d2bb4d569961.jpg

Likely many years of trying, retrying, bargaining and coercion. Also many years of being liquidated through various tactics, liquidating others foolish enough to trust centralized actors, and socializing the losses in doing so.
While the honest, decentralized and secure ledger just does its thing - and brings an ever increasing amount of people to a network with aligned incentives.

Hard concept to get your head around because many (not all) are a result of actions taken by others and yourself - cascading to an event that seems surprising. Take a polarizing topic like war for an example: Today, most people in countries on the winning side of monetary manipulation, turn a blind eye to those on the losing side. In fact, by trying to protect themselves and their families by trying to make a high enough return from within that system, and turning a blind eye to the hidden consequences, they in turn divide society further…making the “war” inevitable - yet fail to see it was at least “in part” their own actions. “A butterfly flaps its wings somewhere……”
Besides that and maybe more to your point. Bad things happen (to everyone) but we still have agency over our thoughts. Have you ever noticed that in life something happens and the reaction to the thing is very different among different people - with some people living a “bad things always happen to me” Seemingly making it that true (because to them it is) while others “accepting the thing” move on with gratitude for what they have. (And create a different reality for themselves)
The latter group likely having a greater positive impact on others through their “beliefs” than the former.
And connect each of the above paragraphs to “a sum total of all our individual actions” and it shows how much we - through a fabric of thoughts, ideas, and actions determine our individual and collective future.
Maybe Ronald Reagan would have understood #Bitcoin and #Nostr
“Perhaps you and I have lived too long with this miracle to properly be appreciative. Freedom is a fragile thing and it's never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by way of inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. And those in world history who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again.
Knowing this, it's hard to explain those among us who even today would question the people's capacity for self- government. I've often wondered if they will answer, those who subscribe to that philosophy: if no one among us is capable of governing himself, then who among us has the capacity to govern someone else? Using the temporary authority granted by the people, in increasing number lately at all levels of government, have sought control even of the means of production as if they could do this without eventually controlling those who produce. And always they explain this as necessary to the people's welfare. "The deterioration of every government begins with the decay of the principle upon which it was founded." This was written in 1748, and it's as true today as it was then.”

Also my base case @npub1qny…95gx and @npub1sn0…jdv9 - because the existing manipulated system makes people more reliant on it as it as they turn to self interest in order to “protect” themselves from a system based on theft, coercion and control - making it and their own life within it - worse over time. People fall for easy to believe narrative’s within that system leading to division, giving more strength for the very system hurting them.
The good news is that once you see #Bitcoin and #Nostr - you can’t “unsee” it, meaning that as one system gets worse, the network effect of #Bitcoin gets stronger - with each of us as nodes.
Ie - the darkness cannot put out the light.
The great news is that our path is accelerating at a staggering rate - with each person added in the ecosystem, every new product delivering value, and capital understanding starting to understand the opportunity - building ever more momentum on aligned incentives.
If you simply ask what would those advocating or winning from a dishonest ledger say about an honest one you should expect chaos - lots of it.
That said, it is hard to fight truth with lies. And there are far more of us….because we are all #Satoshi.
