So true 🙏 We really are building the new world, and I couldn’t be more grateful x
It astonishes me sometimes, realizing how much I trust some of you that I have never even met yet irl.
And I know we probably wouldn’t even agree on many things, but we agree on the most fundamental things, like the desire for freedom and sovereignty, and basic respect for the freedom and sovereignty of each other.
There is so much beauty in that, it is hard to put into words, and yet I see it as the basis for creating the world I want to leave for my grandchildren 💜🧡 #note1vml…hc2p

Yes that’s one example; with an abundance of electricity much more R&D would have gone into both storage and transmission. And these things tend to have a compounding effect, the scientists working on this in the 70s would have taught those in the 80s who would have worked on improvements and taught those in the 90s etc - the improvements would have compounded over time instead we had very little R&D in that space, the same as there’s been very little in nuclear as there has been a dearth of expertise.
So better battery tech would have been expected, but likely also better ways of transmitting that electricity (I’m thinking of things like Tesla built way back when) such that it wouldn’t have had to be limited to wired.
But also, it’s possible they’d have been able to use that abundant electricity for other fuel sources ala hydrogen which is today very inefficient, but possibly with 5 decades of development behind it could have been drastically improved if it could have been easily made all along.
These are the tradeoffs people don’t seem to think much about - the opportunity costs of 50 years of the petrodollar and restricting nuclear power.

1. Core's plan was always to roll out 80 byte OP_RETURN incrementally by starting with 40 to see if it broke anything and then ramping shortly up to the intended 80.
2. #Bitcoin Core, having finished that project, has had 80 byte OP_RETURN for nearly a decade now. 85%+ miners have been set to 80 bytes for the same amount of time. Read the commit log. Read the bitcoin-dev mailing list.
3. You admitted on Shitter/X that you went along with the Core team because you had your own fork where you can make any changes you'd like.
4. Now that Jack has invested in you to decentralize mining, you've cast a shadow over the launch by revolting against the implicit op_return contract in #Bitcoin Core which has been standardized by the network over the last decade.
5. Whirlpool transactions are trivial to detect and you could whitelist them no problem. This is about you kneecapping #Bitcoin fungibility while gaslighting the space about decentralization.
6. What's more centralized? The development process in bitcoin:master with a decade+ track record, ~1000 developers, and 20,000+ code reviews, or Knots, where one dude makes god commits daily, breaking critical aspects of #Bitcoin?
7. Until Ocean.xyz launches #StratumV2, you're just another gatekeeper. Ordinals ia going to run out of customers like every other shitcoin. We don't need to compromise Core just because you didn't get your way 10 years ago.
8. GFY.

with actual data and tens of thousands of independent devs reviewing, testing, and contributing ro it's code, there's no need to convince. no shade, but considering the fact that you are not a developer and can't confirm code, i'm sure you haven't reviewed the code of the devices you are currently using. i would also bet that you use a closed source mobile os whose code cannot be confirmed as well as the politics of their individual devs. i'm not here to convince you to use gos. though i highly recommend it. either way, stay safe out there. pv 🤙🏻💜

I sense a consensus debate from a multitude of angles as the pressures from acquisition, block space, mining pool centralization or "filtering", institutional and regulatory attempted control during the next run up.
I don't have hard answers, or deny any of the future difficulties. Patience, thoughtfulness and dedication. The fight is worth it.
No idea "fails"
It just gets bent and swayed to interests.

Yes, I think so.
but remember to ”follow yourself”, otherwise you won’t see your posts in the flow! But when you register, copy your secret key(you can find it under settings/keys) and paste it into the space intended for it. If you only paste your npub, you only get to read the flow, not write in it.

”In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, not to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is...in some small way to become evil oneself. One's standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.

I just watched HodlHang9 https://youtu.be/lMZ2JOHjslY?si=4uXUgoWKHxyHTkFV and it's so amazing that I have to give it my highest recommendation and express my heartfelt gratitude. It's like being in a room with the brightest minds in Bitcoin, yet it feels as intimate and friendly as a chat with close friends.
Two moments in this episode really struck a chord with me:
1. @npub15vz…k4um Insightful Moment (48:10): When Robert delves into the 'false dichotomy of left and right' and our power to redefine meanings, it's not just insightful – it's transformative. The conversation elevates to an entirely new level of depth and understanding.
2. @npub1hk0…20pf Poetic Freeze (2 hr 10mins 56secs) Erik ends his beautiful channeled rant from a higher dimension, it’s like a Bitcoin poem that ends with "ONLY YOU CAN DO IT," And then his Zoom freezes.
It's as if the universe itself is highlighting the importance of his words. It's a magical and memorable moment. Please check it out, it genuinely feels special.
A huge shoutout to all four HodlHangers: Robert, Erik, @npub1cqm…hjec and AmericanHODL. Your discussions are enlightening, helping me learn more about #Bitcoin and, importantly, more about myself. Thank You
Below is a transcription of Erik’s Bitcoin Poem!
“…..Some things that I see is like this totally new paradigm
like what I do see it having corollaries to it is……..
…….an individual having a true transcendental experience that converts them. Because after that conversion, there's a radical new perspective of the world that allows for it to be totally different!
Yet somehow the same. And it's interesting because there's a passage from Walter Benjamin where he talks about what the world looks like after the eschaton.
He says, everything is exactly the same but slightly different; and that's one of the things about Bitcoin……….
It’s that, all of the same things that seemed so maniacal and hateful and destroying of humanity, there's now this strange little inversion that can happen where, just like how bitcoin is a trap door out of the bottom of hell. It Changes that perspective!
And it allows for an ability for us to actually rescue ourselves from the circumstances.
And to me…….. like this is the most important part……
It’s that like, very similar to the religious conversion……..
ONLY YOU CAN DO IT!”

FUCK EASY
I'm fed up with easy.
You don't want easy.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions, and one of said intentions is making things too easy.
Easy is staying on the couch.
Easy is not putting on your running shoes.
Easy is watching the porn, eating the junk food, binging the fucking stupid series.
Easy is not sticking out.
Easy is shutting up when you should be speaking out.
Easy is compliance.
Easy is saying the same thing, thinking the same thing, and liking the same thing as everyone else.
Easy is kicking the can down the road.
Easy is short-term gain for long-term losses.
Easy is starting up the money printer.
Easy is "papering over" failures.
Easy is "This is too hard. This is not for me. Someone else should take care of it."
Easy is not educating yourself.
Easy is not taking responsibility.
Easy is trusting a third party.
Easy is not holding your own keys.
Easy is comfortable.
Easy is not having to think.
Easy is not having to understand.
Easy is the coddling of the mind.
Doing things right is hard. Understanding things right is hard too. As is changing the status quo. But there's no improvement without change, no change without pain.
Fuck easy.
